Netting

Durability, mesh size, cutting to size and cat safety.

How long does the cat netting last outdoors?

Our cat netting is UV-treated knotted HDPE. Standard netting holds about 93% strength after 10 years; the stainless-steel-reinforced premium is tougher still. It is pre-stretched so it will not sag.

Can I cut the netting to size, and will it fray?

Yes. The netting cuts to size with ordinary scissors and will not fray or unravel, thanks to its heat-strengthened knots.

What is the mesh size, and is it safe for cats and kittens?

The netting has a 19mm x 19mm (about 3/4 inch) square mesh, the maximum safe hole size for cats. Kittens 6 months and under should not be left unattended.

Is the netting suitable for strong or active cats?

Standard netting suits cats of all sizes. For strong, determined or climbing cats, the stainless-steel-reinforced option adds durability.

Does the netting sag or stretch over time?

No. The netting is pre-stretched knotted HDPE, designed not to sag or stretch when installed taut.
