Can cats chew through the cat netting?Updated an hour ago

Catnetting is designed to resist chewing and scratching when it is installed correctly.

For best chewing resistance, the netting should be installed tight and taut. When the netting is tensioned properly, it helps restrict a cat’s jaw access and makes it difficult for an adult cat over 6 months old to get their back chewing teeth over the netting.

The netting is different from flyscreen. Flyscreen is typically a single strand, while cat netting is made from nine individual strands interwoven throughout the net. The netting is also heat-set and pre-stretched for strength and durability.

This design helps the netting resist scratching and chewing during normal cat use.

Important: no netting should be described as chew-proof, escape-proof, or indestructible. Check the netting regularly for loose edges, gaps, or damage, especially if your cat is a strong chewer or climber.

If your cat has damaged the netting, stop using the enclosure if it is no longer secure and contact customer service with photos of the damaged area.
